This morning I woke up and found that my unlimited monthly package has expired, I thought no worry I still got some balance on my main account, will do recharge in a couple of days. Just to check the balance, I dialwd *123# and found that my main balance is also going to expire in 3 days, that's strange. I was under an impression that it is for life time at least till 2020 or 2021.
This is something which company claimed when I used to recharge earlier that balance is with lifetime validity. That's a direct case of cheating with customers.
Even this happened with my earlier Idea number, where my outgoing services were stopped due to the fact that I didn't had enough minimum balance on account.
The main reasons I found that these companies have immense pressure to improve Average revenue per user.
But to do that, changing policies and refusal from what promised earlier is not at all ethical way to doing.
I am more worry about the people in village who own a mobile and a SIM for sake of emergency only, and those people now need to subscribe for minimum recharge of 28 days. Even it is not 30 on an average. 365 divided by 28 is 13, that means they need to do at least Rs. 455 recharge on annual basis. Not only villagers, it goes with all consumers, if they own a SIM now, to continue using services, they need to shed atleast 455 annually.
I am afraid what TRAI is doing on these policies of companies. All the bank account, and many apps are getting linked with these numbers, the mobile company shouldn't threat people for discontinue of service on the sake of minimum subscription policy.
If speaking about government company like BSNL, they couldn't able to build a strong trust on their network.
Further more these policy might give a little push in revenue collection but will definitely reduce ARPU in long run.
Company shall make an environment before of trust with consumers and talking about normal Indian phycology, even rupee lost without a reason start a sense of distrust with us.
